Three Masters. Three Paths. No Dialogue?
Johann Sebastian Bach, George Frideric Handel, and Antonio Vivaldi – three outstanding Baroque composers whose lives and works left a lasting mark on music history. Bach and Handel were born in the same year; Vivaldi and Bach died on the same day. Although they lived at the same time and each represented their own distinct musical style, they never met – a personal dialogue never took place. And yet, they now meet regularly – through, in Leipzig. This annual encounter serves as the occasion for a special city walk. Leipzig’s tour guides will explore key stages in Bach’s life while also offering insights into the parallel life paths of Handel and Vivaldi.
